Topic 2 - Turning the TurtleYour turtle has moved somewhere across the screen but only in one direction.
To turn the turtle and draw in another direction use either Right or Left followed by an angle in degrees.
Try the following which is the shorthand form for turning to the right through 90 degrees:
RT 90

Now enter the next line and you will see the turtle is heading once again in the same direction as it was before you typed in the last two lines:
LT 90
Turn 90 degrees to the right again and tell the turtle to move forward 50.
Make the turtle complete a square and return to the starting point.
You have now drawn your first Logo shape!

The commands FORWARD, BACK, LEFT and RIGHT are called primitives in Logo because they are already defined for you and form the base of the language. You will meet many other primitives as you work your way through WinLogo and you will also learn to define your own.
