the ruler guide at 10.5cm.In Publisher create a new document, a single sheet of A4 in portrait mode.
Set the guidelines to 1cm each and place a ruler guide exactly in the middle of the page. To place the guide, put the cursor in the vertical ruler, hold down the button and drag to the middle of the screen. Press F9 to zoom in so you can see the ruler. The exact centre for the design will be at 10.5cm on the top ruler. This will allow you to set up a ticket on the left side and copy it to the right side with no overlaps.

Design your ticket by placing a text box between the left page margin and the centre guide and fill in the details of the ticket: Name of the play, venue, date, time, seat number (all the information that a person needs).
With the text box selected choose Format/Text Box and add a border line of 0.25pt (very thin).
The size of the ticket should be such that you can copy and paste 4 or five of them into the left hand column of your design. The top margin is at 1cm and the bottom margin is slightly beyond 28cm - this makes 27cm of workspace in all. If your ticket is 5cm deep you will be able to fit 5 in a column (5x5=25) into a column; if it is 6cm deep you will be able to fit 4 into the column (6x4=24) and if it is 7cm deep you will also be able to fit 4, just (7*4=28). a depth of 6cm would seem like a good choice.
When you have finished the master ticket copy the text box (click on the dotted lines around it) and paste it to create a new copy. Point at the dotted box around the ticket copy and place it under the first. Paste a further 6 times and drag each new copy of the ticket into its place on the sheet (4 in each column). The border lines of each ticket should just be visible but with no space in between (so that there are guidelines for cutting up the sheet of tickets) - the lines should be thicker where they touch.

Finally, edit each ticket on the page to change its seat number. The person selling tickets could write the name on the ticket and match this to names in the seating plan on the spreadsheet.
Save and print a copy when you have finished.
