Film 2: 21st Century Educational Reality

Through a class forum and working in pairs, identify themes from the films. You will use the themes later as headings in a presentation.

Task Part 1

Make a presentation for a target audience of pupils in the year below on the theme of how the world is changing and what we in education (schools and their pupils) should do about it.

In pairs and using a word processor for notes:

To improve collaboration use a Wiki - someone starts a document then mails a link to the others in the group.

Task Part 2

Through a class forum, identify themes from the homework films.

Extend your presentation to include these themes e.g.

Continue developing the presentation by considering:

Film 8: Pathways in Computer Science

Research careers in Computing and make posts to the forum of jobs that involve Computing skills. Post at least one distinct job description to the forum (if someone else gets there first you will have to find another).

Add one or more slides with a list of the opportunities now available in this area.
